CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--()--bluebird bio, Inc., a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on transforming the lives of patients with severe genetic and orphan diseases using gene therapy, today announced the pricing of its initial public offering of 5,941,176 shares of common stock at a public offering price of $17.00 per share, before underwriting discounts. All of the common stock is being offered by bluebird bio. In addition, the underwriters have a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 891,176 shares of common stock from bluebird bio. The company’s shares are expected to begin trading on The NASDAQ Global Select Market on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 under the trading symbol “BLUE.”
